Classically low tech or classically high tech: VWs and plasma TV
Some things will never lose their appeal regardless of how seemingly outdated they have become, in fact for some things like the ‘1965 VW split screen camper’ or the ‘VW Westfalia Continental 1974 bay window Campervan’, it just adds to their timeless appeal. Whilst this may work for cars and other things it just does not work for home entertainment equipment like televisions. Whilst there is a definite appeal to cruising about in one of these iconic automobiles that are quite simply classic there isn’t much appeal to watching the latest movie or the match and a substandard television set.
an you imagine watching the World Cup on a 14” black and white television that kept fading in and out? The rise in popularity of the plasma TV has put an end to those days. The proliferation of high resolution televisions generated by the introduction of high definition television, not to mention DVD and other recent advances in technology has meant that prices have plummeted and every man and his dog are watching a clean, clear and unblurred picture that owes everything to these recent advances in technology that have enabled us to enjoy television like never before. Just as you would want 100% from your television experience you would also want 100% from your camping experience which is why, if you want an authentic camping experience straight from the days of peace and love, you’ll look at renting a VW Campervan for your next holiday on and off the road.
