How to Make Living in a Camper Easier
The most important thing to keep in mind when maintaining a camper as a temporary home on the road is the supply of water and energy. You need water to hydrate yourself and clean food. You also need enough electricity or batteries to power your appliances and the vehicle. Thus, always check these items before leaving the house.
People need about eight to ten litres of water per day and that includes the amount required for a quick shower, especially if it is humid. Since you will be most likely to fetch your own food, you will need water to clean them. Hence, check your supply before you leave. In addition, make sure that there are no leaks in the pipe where water will pass, as this can cause problems.
If your camper has travelled a good number of kilometres and if you have several electronics that use the vehicle's battery, make sure to charge it up before your trip. If you do not know how to do this, take the automobile to a professional. You can also take a spare battery that has been charged up as well, just in case.
To make your temporary home more conducive to living, make sure that the camper has enough ventilation as well as a heating and cooling system. Again, check the pipes to make sure they do not need repair or replacement. Inspect the units for any defects, so you can have these repaired immediately.
Moreover, be sure to have enough supply of food that can last until you get to your campsite, so you do not have to make any side trips to restaurants or supermarkets. Keep a stock of canned and packaged meals as well since they are easy to prepare.
